Green Living

As a church we believe that our world is a gift to us all and that we have the joy of looking after and celebrating the world around us.
This involves actions that encourage us all to live a greener lifestyle. These include having recycling points and bike locking facilities and developing and promoting our Quiet Garden.

We have an Eco Church Silver Award and solar PV panels (fitted 2011).
Our Quiet Garden has Green Flag status and RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood Awards;

Our Quiet Garden is a small landscaped area, open for all to enjoy and suitable for wheelchair users. It is part of the contemplative Quiet Garden Movement.
The garden is wildlife friendly, has natural and seasonal plantings, a paved labyrinth, mosaics and seating and is a calm place in a busy environment.
By the door you can find a mindfulness meditation to help with your reflections while in this quiet space.
The Quiet Garden is accessed via our entrance on Mansfield Road. Anyone is welcome to visit and enjoy this space at any time. As with any Methodist premises, no alcohol is allowed in the garden.
